In this interview Christine is speaking with John Cloutier from Specialized Fitness

About John

John was diagnosed with a mild thoracic dextro-scoliosis and chest wall deformity at 11 years old. The consulting surgeon suggested sectioning his sternum and repositioning his ribcage. But he never got that surgery, it wasn't anything as serious as those facing much larger scoliosis curves, with much more rotation and asymmetry. Nevertheless, the asymmetry he felt didn't allow him to be passive. He began to seriously practice a form of seated postural yoga (Zen style) and standing postural yoga (Tai Ji and Qi Gong).

Following his interest in postural work, he graduated from McGill University with a bachelor's of education, kinesiology, in 2005.

He has been helping people develop better posture, mobility, balance and postural control ever since, with a special focus on scoliosis in the last few years. As of 2020, he has no scoliosis at all.
